March 2-8, 2025, marks Women in Construction Week, a time to recognize the hardworking, skilled, and determined women who keep the construction industry moving forward. Led by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), this annual event celebrates the growing number of women in the field and highlights their vital role in shaping the industry’s future.
Women in Construction: Leading the Way
Landscape Development, Inc. (LDI), Enhanced Landscape Management (ELM), Enhanced Arbor Management (EAM), and Design Studios Landscape Development know that getting the job done isn’t about gender—it’s about skill, knowledge, and determination. Women in construction are managing projects, leading crews, running offices, and making key decisions that keep job sites and businesses running smoothly.
The number of women in construction continues to grow, and for good reason. This industry needs hardworking, knowledgeable professionals; women are stepping up and proving they belong. Whether in the field or behind the scenes, women bring problem-solving skills, leadership, and expertise to every project.
The History of Women in Construction Week
Women have been in construction for generations, but in 1953, a group of 16 women formally established NAWIC to provide support, education, and advocacy for women in the industry. In 1998, NAWIC launched Women in Construction Week, which has grown yearly. This year’s theme, “Together We Rise,” emphasizes teamwork, perseverance, and the shared goal of moving the industry forward.
Looking to the Future
Women in construction are proving every day that success comes from hard work and expertise—not from fitting a certain mold. As more women enter the industry, they bring fresh perspectives, strong leadership, and the skills needed to push construction forward.
LDI, ELM, EAM, and Design Studios take pride in the talented women on our team who plan, build, manage, and lead. They are a vital part of our success, and their contributions are shaping the future of construction.
This Women in Construction Week, we celebrate all the women who put on their boots, pick up the plans, and take charge. The industry needs you, and we’re proud to work alongside you.
Here’s to the women who build!
