Landscape Development, Inc. (LDI) is proud to announce our involvement in a meaningful charitable project in collaboration with Carmel Partners. Our Corona division, led by Steve Kammerer, is donating time and resources to install an irrigation system for a new cluster of Meadow Cabins at the Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times in Mountain Center, CA.
This initiative is managed by Richard Lewis on behalf of the camp. The completion of the irrigation system marks the final touch before the cabins become operational, providing a crucial resource for children with cancer and their families.
About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) supports families with critically ill children through various programs. These include:
- Seven Ronald McDonald Houses in Bakersfield, Inland Empire, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange County, Pasadena, and Westside of Los Angeles.
- Two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange and CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital.
- A new Family Room in development at Ventura County Medical Center and a new House near UCLA/Mattel Children’s Hospital on the Westside of Los Angeles.
- Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a cost-free, medically-supervised camp for children with cancer and their families.
Historical Background: The first Ronald McDonald House® opened on October 15, 1974, in Philadelphia, thanks to the vision of Dr. Audrey Evans of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and support from Philadelphia Eagles’ player Fred Hill, Eagles owner Leonard Tose, and McDonald’s. RMHCSC began in 1977 with the planning of the region’s first Ronald McDonald House near Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
LDI is honored to contribute to such a significant cause, enhancing the lives of children and their families. We look forward to sharing more updates on this project as it progresses.
