Tigerfight Foundation & Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
LDI recently contributed to the Tigerfight Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Kern County families battling pediatric blood cancers. Their mission to provide financial assistance during some of life’s most difficult moments aligns with our commitment to offering peace of mind to the communities we serve.
In addition, we continue to support the Central California Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their tireless efforts to cure blood cancers while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Our focus remains on helping local families now, while also investing in a future free of cancer.
Allgire Foundation – Spring Harvest
We’re also excited to join forces again with the Allgire Foundation in their annual Spring Harvest event. Last year’s efforts resulted in over 16,000 care packages delivered to more than 200 affordable housing communities throughout San Diego. This year, we’re aiming even higher.
These packages—filled with healthy fruits and vegetables—help address food insecurity and the rising cost of nutritious food. But we don’t just assemble the boxes—we deliver them door-to-door, connecting directly with residents and putting in some steps for a good cause.
The Grove Avenue Beautification – LDI Sacramento
LDI Sacramento recently participated in a charitable initiative supporting the beautification of The Grove Avenue community, a transitional housing site in Del Paso Heights managed by First Step Communities. The project was led by the Building Industry Association’s (BIA) 2025 BUILD group, in partnership with HomeAid.
The Grove provides shelter and supportive services to young adults aged 18 to 24 who are working toward stability and independence. As part of the project, volunteers furnished and enhanced multiple tiny cabins to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for residents.
To contribute, our Sacramento team donated a collection of hardy potted plants to help bring life and warmth to the outdoor spaces. While the cabins themselves could not be structurally altered, the addition of greenery and thoughtful outdoor décor helped foster a sense of home and dignity for the residents.
The Impact of Outreach and Volunteerism

Outreach and volunteerism have an incredibly positive impact on local communities by creating social solidarity and addressing social inequalities. We empower each other to make a difference in the lives of others. We build community resilience. We promote local engagement and create a sense of belonging by bringing people together across diverse backgrounds to contribute to the common good.
Volunteers are at the heart of community outreach. The truth of the matter is that most nonprofit organizations cannot survive without the help of volunteers. According to Independent Sector, the hourly value of volunteer time for the U.S. in 2023 was $33.49! That number is staggering—and continues to grow. Imagine how diluted services would become if organizations were forced to hire employees to serve all the needs of our communities. As volunteers, we bring diverse skillsets, raise visibility, and save vital resources—helping to ensure donations go directly toward those in need.
Most volunteer opportunities are available to anyone with time and interest. The key is to find a cause that resonates with you and an organization you’re passionate about. Regardless of physical limitations, age, or time constraints, there are opportunities all around us to serve the greater good and make a lasting impact.
This is the particularly beautiful part about volunteering: everyone and anyone can make a difference. Margaret Mead said it best:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
I make a difference. You make a difference. We make a difference. Together, we are able to offer our unique talents and gifts—and in doing so, we not only bless and transform the lives around us but also enrich our own.
