Why Proper Tree Establishment Starts with Human Touch
When it comes to successful landscape installation, every detail matters—especially how we water new trees. Landscape Development, Inc., knows that hand-watering isn’t just a task—it’s a critical practice that directly impacts tree survival, long-term health, and overall project success.
Why Hand-Watering Is Essential for New Trees
Newly planted trees are in a delicate state. Removed from their original growing environment and placed into unfamiliar soil, they are highly susceptible to transplant shock. During this adjustment period, consistent and controlled watering is key.
Automated irrigation systems often miss the mark. Emitters may not reach the root ball adequately, and overspray can lead to runoff or shallow watering. That’s why our trained crews hand-water each tree—ensuring deep root hydration exactly where it’s needed.
Benefits of Hand-Watering:
Reduces Transplant Shock: Gentle, targeted watering minimizes stress and supports root establishment.
Promotes Deep Root Growth: Encouraging roots to grow deeper leads to stronger, more resilient trees.
Prevents Overwatering or Dry Pockets: Crews can visually inspect soil moisture levels and adjust accordingly.
Ensures Accountability & Quality Control: Hand-watering allows our teams to monitor tree health in real time.
