Mark J. Crutcher

Mark J. Crutcher serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Landscape Development, Inc., succeeding Founder Gary Horton, who led the organization for more than four decades. Since joining LDI in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer, Mark has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction, operational excellence, and people-first culture—driving significant growth and helping position LDI as a premier integrated landscape services provider in the Western U.S.

Mark is known for his focus on process improvement, leadership development, and building high-performing teams. His guiding philosophy is rooted in LDI’s brand promise: “Peace of Mind.” Mark believes that delivering exceptional service to clients begins with investing in exceptional talent—ensuring every team member has the tools, training, and support they need to thrive.

Before joining Landscape Development, Mark spent a decade at Valley Crest Companies as Vice President, where he oversaw supply chain, fleet, and real estate operations nationwide. His earlier career in high-tech distribution and manufacturing further strengthened his expertise in operational strategy and organizational development.
