Landscape Development, Inc. is proud to celebrate the completion of landscape construction at Together California: A Village for Brothers and Sisters in Palmdale.
The unique foster care community was co-founded by Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale. Its mission is to help keep siblings together while they are in foster care.
For years, Bale and his fellow founders worked toward creating a supportive, family-centered community. Their vision was to give brothers and sisters a place where they could remain together rather than face separation.
Today, that vision has become a reality.
LDI’s Los Angeles Construction Division is proud to have helped bring the outdoor environment of this remarkable community to life.
A Longtime Vision Becomes a Reality
Christian Bale co-founded Together California with his wife, Sibi Bale, Dr. Eric Esrailian and Tim McCormick. Bale has worked toward creating a foster care community like this for nearly two decades.
At the heart of the project is a simple but powerful idea: brothers and sisters in foster care should have the opportunity to stay together.
Together California turned that idea into a residential village in Palmdale. The community includes 12 homes designed to provide children with safe and nurturing living environments. In addition, the property includes two studio apartments and a community center.
Together, these spaces provide homes, programs and resources for children and families.
Creating a Community That Feels Like Home
The physical environment plays an important role in creating a sense of home.
Therefore, Together California was designed to feel like a neighborhood rather than an institutional setting. Children can experience the familiarity, comfort and connection of a residential community.
Homes, shared spaces, recreation areas and landscaping all contribute to that experience.
LDI’s Los Angeles Construction Division helped support this vision through landscape construction throughout the property.
Trees and plantings add greenery, shade and natural character. Meanwhile, lawns and outdoor areas provide places where children and families can gather, play and spend time together.
The landscape also connects the individual homes and shared spaces. As a result, Together California feels like more than a collection of buildings. It feels like a neighborhood.
Landscape Construction With a Greater Purpose
Landscape construction does more than improve the appearance of a property. Outdoor environments also shape how people experience a place.
Thoughtful landscapes can encourage connection, recreation and everyday enjoyment. At Together California, those outdoor spaces have an especially meaningful role.
Every tree, planting area, lawn and gathering space contributes to the larger environment. Together, they help create a setting focused on stability, community and belonging.
Projects like Together California demonstrate the broader impact of quality commercial landscape construction. Our work becomes part of the places where people live, gather, learn and build memories.
Because of the mission behind Together California, LDI is particularly proud to have contributed our landscape construction expertise to this project.
Celebrating the Together California Grand Opening
Together California celebrated the completion of its Palmdale village with a grand opening in September 2026.
The event marked an important milestone after years of planning, collaboration and construction. It also provided an opportunity to recognize the many people and organizations that helped make the community possible.
LDI is honored to be among the project partners that helped bring the village to life.
Congratulations to Our Los Angeles Construction Team
